Prepare and Win is a free practice site for students in Classes 9 to 12. It is built so that you can use it without telling us who you are.

What we never ask for

Your real name, phone number, email address, home address, photo, Aadhaar or any other ID number, or your location. Using the site does not need an account.

What we keep, and where

• On your phone or computer: the nickname, class, board, state and optional school you type in, your practice marks, your language choice, and a random code your browser makes up so that your leaderboard row stays yours. This lives in your browser's storage and does not leave your device except as described next.
• On our leaderboard: your nickname, class, state, school (if you gave one), total practice marks, number of papers finished, and that random code. The leaderboard is public, so anyone using the site can see your nickname, class, state, school and marks. It is stored with Cloudflare, which hosts this site.
• Invites: if you open the site from a friend's invite link, we record that your browser's code came from theirs, so their bonus paper can unlock. We do not record who you are or who they are.

Removing yourself

Tap Change class or state, then Remove me from the leaderboard. Your row is deleted straight away. Clearing your browser's data removes everything kept on your device. You can also write to us at the address below.

Ads

The site is free because of advertising. When ads are switched on, they are non-personalised only: they are not chosen from your browsing history or behaviour, because most people here are under 18 and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act does not allow behavioural advertising to children. Ad partners may still use cookies to limit how often an ad repeats and to stop fraud.

Analytics

We do not run analytics on this site at the moment. If we add a tool to count visits and button taps, we will update this page first.

The scholarship test

Prizes are decided by one final test on the date shown on the Prizes page. Only students who win are asked for anything more: a school ID card and the written consent of a parent or guardian, so the prize reaches the right student. We use these only to verify and deliver the prize, and delete them once that is done.

Hosting and logs

Cloudflare serves this site. Like any web host, it handles your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We do not store IP addresses in our leaderboard.
